ملخص:This volume contains four plays by Sophocles who was the first to give to ancient Greek drama a structure recognizably related to its modern descendant. In Electra he objectively presents part of the Orestean legend, while Women of Trachis is remarkable for the human verisimilitude imparted to a near-repulsive piece of mythology. Philoctetes portrays the struggles of right against might, and Ajax takes for its theme that of the great man fallen.
