مستخلص:This book addresses the issue of managing outdoor recreation to protect park resources and the quality of the visitor experience. The book is organized into three parts. Part I comprises five chapters that draw on the scientific and professional literature in parks and outdoor recreation to develop a systematic and creative approach to outdoor recreation management. Part II of the book presents a series of 20 case studies in managing outdoor recreation in the US National Parks. The 20 case studies span a considerable range of outdoor recreation-related problems and management practices, and a wide spectrum of national parks. Part III consists of a single chapter designed to extract an emerging set of principles that can be used to guide management of outdoor recreation.
