Annotation What are the alternatives to slash-and-burn in the Indonesian uplands? This book is based on fieldwork in some 40 small regions of Indonesia. Among its topics is information on technical innovations and livestock production, on-farm reservoirs for supplemental irrigation, and improved jungle rubber systems. This book contains information on better breeds and technical assistance to encourage successful long-term land management by individual farmers in the tropical region.
