ملخص:Examines the effects of artificial intelligence adoption on productivity and employment using data from more than 12,000 European Union and United States firms. Employing matched EIBIS-ORBIS data and an instrumental-variable approach, the study finds that AI adoption is associated with higher labour productivity, primarily through capital deepening rather than short-term labour substitution. The paper also analyzes firm characteristics, innovation behaviour, wages, and complementary investments in software, data, and workforce skills, providing evidence for policymakers and business leaders on the economic implications of AI adoption.
