Examines the use of terrorist methods as an arm of Iran's foreign policyoperating through the network of Iranian embassies and diplomatic staffs. The author, a member of IISS and RUSI, considers the continued operations after Khomeini's death in 1989 and the "war" between "moderates" and "fundamentalists" in the Muslim world. He highlights the way that the Algerian and Egyptian governments have responded with the military option in the face of uncompromising fundamentalist objectives.
