Stop by the reference desk for research assistance (e.g.: when researching a topic for a report or study, for help using the library catalog or databases, or for assistance finding a specific book)

Yes, the general public (non-ECSSR) can use the library. If you wish to borrow any books, you can apply for a Wider Community Membership, which requires a deposit and registration fee.

For more in-depth assistance you can make an appointment with a subject librarian to help allocate the resources needed for your research.

Opening hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday – Thursday, & 8:00am – 11:30am on Fridays. The library is closed during weekends and public holidays.

You can find books by using the online catalog at: https://library.ecssr.ae/ (some, but not all, books are available digitally).

Wi-Fi access is available, but should only be used for research purposes.

Library materials may be returned to the reference desk between 8:00am and 5:00pm Monday-Thursday, and 8:00am - 11:30am on Fridays.

The wider community can check out a maximum of 5 items at any given time.

The library is located at the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research in Abu Dhabi. Access is via the main reception.
