الاستعراض: "The context for this paper is the agreement among Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Greece, Romania, Serbia and Montenegro, and Turkey to form a regional electricity market, soon to be joined by Italy. The study identifies the magnitude of electricity generation investment needed in the evolving market. The paper also proposes mechanisms to reduce those investment requirements via improved efficiency and increased trade - providing an assessment of technical and institutional barriers to electricity trade. It suggests that less investment will be required if countries coordinated investments and shared reserves during noncoincidental peak periods."--Jacket.
