الاستعراض: Presents a conceptual framework for the analysis of corruption in developing countries and offers suggestions for reducing and eliminating corruption, based on strategies combining law enforcement, institutional reforms, and public support. A strong correlation between successful anti-corruption programs and civil liberties is demonstrated throughout the book. Corruption has the most devastating effect on developing economies because it hinders advances in economic growth and democracy. This publication presents the views of eminent practitioners on how to reduce and eventually eliminate corruption. Discussions focus on such issues as cross-border corruption, corruption and the global economy, the role of civil society and perspectives of international organizations. It also gives examples of measures initiated towards the banishment of corruption showing the strengths and weaknesses of the different approaches.
