This book is a biography of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Member of UAE Supreme Council and Ruler of Fujairah. The author portrays different stages of life of His Highness from his childhood, through enrolling in the first regular school in Fujairah and then studying the United Kingdom. In a narrative style, the author relates the work of His Highness Sheikh Hamad from the time he assumed the office of Crown Prince of Fujairah and the portfolio of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries in the UAE first cabinet. The author focuses on the reign of His Highness which began in September 1974 and explores the relationship of the young ruler with the UAE founding father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his brothers the Rulers of the Emirates. The author follows the concern of His Highness with the services which facilitates the life of his citizens such as education, health, security and social affairs. The author also depicts achievements accomplished in reality in different fields like culture, transport, and industry. With the constant support and follow-up of His Highness, the beautiful Emirate of Fujairah has competed with the internationally renowned cities in the field of marine transport and services as it is today the second largest bunkering port in the world after Singapore. A whole chapter is dedicated to His Highness's concern with international relations and the book concludes with a photo album, which presents a biography full of pioneer national achievements. The author describes the Ruler saying, "His Highness prefers to work silently and patiently" and adds a quote by a journalist in 1976: "His Highness the Ruler of Fujairah speaks enthusiastically of Fujairah, of planning for a bright future, of hope. His Highness is simple in his majlis, loved by the people of Fujairah; he is educated, modest and characterized by deep thinking and far sight. People in Fujairah speak of his justice, modesty and democratic style of rule.
