Papers presented at the international seminar on Eliminating terrorism : towards just and secure India, on 10th September 2007.Comprising the proceedings of a seminar, the volume deals with various aspects of terrorism and global security. The papers in English and Hindi view the mindset that is attracted to terrorism, its causes and strategies adopted to fight it. The problems of religious fundamentalism and terrorism at the global level are given special attention. They cover maritime terrorism, urban terrorism, cross-border terrorism, Naxalism, insurgency and low-intensity conflicts referring specially to the scenario in Kashmir and the North-east states of India. They examine the impact of terrorism on the life and security of the common people and on the tourism and hospitality industry, and emphasise the need to train citizens to tackle terrorism.
