"Around the world Indigenous peoples remain largely alienated from the collection, use and application of the data about them, their lands, and their cultures. This book investigates this problem, demonstrating how it disenfranchises Indigenous peoples from shaping policy to meet their needs. The book looks both at how policy is developed and implemented by a nation state in relation to its Indigenous peoples, and at how Indigenous nations develop policy related to their own peoples.
